Our team consists of experts from the Universities of Calgary, Alberta, Manitoba and Toronto, as well as research trainees and staff members. Members of our team come from a wide range of fields in medicine and veterinary medicine, including: epidemiology, microbiology, genetics, immunology, and other health science disciplines. By combining this varied expertise and integrating clinical, population-level and basic science research, the team is hoping to find the answers to Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis that have eluded individual scientists for decades.
The Alberta IBD Consortium is built upon a unique collaborative model where projects are developed and research is conducted through ongoing interaction and knowledge sharing with patients, partner organizations, health care professionals and among team members. The team is committed to actively sharing research findings and developments, while collecting important research questions and interests from all of their stakeholders.
