Congratulations to Elizabeth Trusevych on receiving the Eleanor Mackie Doctoral Scholarship

The Alberta IBD Consortium would like to congratulate Elizabeth Trusevych on receiving the Eleanor Mackie Doctoral Scholarship in Women’s Health from the Council of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Calgary. The Council extended congratulations to Elizabeth for receiving an award that will help her reach her academic objectives. Elizabeth is working under Dr. Kris Chadee on a project defining intestinal barrier functions in Muc2-deficient mice.

Congratulations to Dr. Sa'ad Salim on receiving an AI-HS Fellowship Award

The Alberta IBD Consortium would like to congratulate Dr. Sa’ad Salim on receiving an Alberta Innovates – Health Solutions Fellowship Award. Selected as one of 25 successful fellows from a pool of 77 applicants from across the province, Dr. Salim will be working with Dr. Karen Madsen on projects examining the effects of air pollution on the immune system in Crohn’s patients. Dr. Salim’s work will focus on the effects of air pollution particles on the immune system’s ability to respond to bacteria in the gut.
